A collaborative editing project made possible by the Huygens Institute for the History of the Netherlands and the Clusius Community 2.0.
This website presents an edition-in-progress of the correspondence of the famous sixteenth-century botanist Carolus Clusius (1526-1609). The edition is produced in eLaborate, an online collaborative editing tool developed at the Huygens ING.
The first release (December 2015) includes metadata belonging to all known 1600 letters, scans of 1170 letters and transcriptions at different stages of completion of almost 1000 letters. You are most welcome to join the Clusius Community 2.0 and to contribute to this edition!
